Holy sweet damn! Music is alive and well in Bellingham, folks! Case in point: Land Salmon Vol. 1, a compilation featuring 12 of our community’s newer and most promising acts. Beautifully recorded and mixed, Land Salmon is – what do the kids say – “all killer, no filler,” making it difficult for me to even mention personal favorites because this CD is pure gold (for reals).
Apparently Land Salmon is the first in a series of comps which will spotlight particular music communities in the Northwest; our spotlight includes Family Sweater, Nick Duncan, A Cozy Kitchen, Drew, Hunting Hat, Chelsey Weber-Smith, Marymorgan Ruth Vegdahl-Crowell, Summer, Bluebird, Butte and compilation curator Echo Bark, who in the spirit of greatness is distributing the album for FREE.
