Lumpkins
Lumpkins are a Bellingham, WA based band, playing uniquely Northwestern Country music. With pervasive traditional Country themes throughout, Lumpkins specialize in portraying the down-on-their-luck Washingtonian. Dealing with drunken lovers, stoned friends, and the ever-present shroud of darkened clouds – our hero hops a train and reflects, bottle in hand.
At a recent show in Bellingham’s small rock and roll dive, one listener remarks, “this should be our house band!” This listener is perceptive, recognizing that the dingy, poorly lit pub is the perfect environment to house this particular brand of country music. Despite the dreariness, Lumpkins still get people out of their seats and onto the dance floor.
Lumpkins would do well on a fantasy bill where they share the stage with Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers, Willie Nelson, The Band, and Townes Van Zandt.
