Ruby Parasols

An insensitive decidous tree. A grasshopper joyously jumping into the ocean. A worm that pines for cyclonelike kisses. Anthropomorphism comes easily to songsters Russell Fish and Max Harnishfeger, friends and co-leaders of Ruby Parasols. Although their daily lives remain separated by 367 miles of freeway asphalt, Harnishfeger in Spokane and Fish in Bellingham, their musical aspirations remain remarkably fruitful.

Their first venture A Hodgepodge Symphony in the Key of EP was penned by Fish, recorded in Eastern WA, and brought to completion in the Ham. Their second album, EP of Bugs, drafted by amatuer etomologist Harnishfeger, was recorded and completed in Bellingham with Fish in the producer’s seat.

Although, Fish and Harnishfeger steer the parasol ship, it could vary well sink without loyal confidants, Heidi Fish (of Kettle Falls, WA) and John Michael William Platter (of Bellingham). Fish’s sister Heidi unfailingly shows up at the right time with her accordion and good looks to track/perform. As does Platter, a ridiculously talented drummer/guitarist/singer/composer/conductor/friend.
